The Lewis’s – 1978

This is a transcription of the deed transferring 212 1st Avenue SW from Arrie Lewis, widow of W.A. Lewis, to Jack R. and Kathryn B. Taylor in December 1978.

THIS WARRANTY DEED Made the 13th day of December A.D. 1978 by ARRIE LEWIS, the widow of W.A. LEWIS, Deceased, hereinafter called the grantor, to JACK R. TAYLOR and KATHRYN B. TAYLOR, his wife, whose postoffice address is P.O. Box 32, Jasper, Florida 32052, hereinafter called the grantee:

this instrument and the heirs, legal representatives and assigns of individuals, and the successors and assigns of corporations)

WITNESSETH: That the grantor, for and in consideration of the sum of $30,000.00 and other valuable considerations, receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hereby grants, bargains, sells, aliens, remises, releases, conveys and confirms unto the grantee, all that certain land situate in Hamilton County, Florida, viz:

The C.A. Stephens Lot bounded on the North by lands of P.H. Sandlin, on the East by Court House Avenue, on the South by Rice Street, and on the West by ditch running from P.H. Sandlin’s land to Rice Street, and further known as part of Lot 36 of Tompkins Survey of the Town of Jasper, Florida, lying east of said ditch, lying and being in the Town (now City) of Jasper, Florida, in the County of Hamilton, as shown on the survey attached hereto as Exhibit “A”.

Attached in this area are (4) stamps in the amount of $1000, and (2) stamps in the amount of $2500. These stamps are labeled “Documentary Stamp Tax,” and have the seal of Florida, surrounded by “In God We Trust – Florida.” At the bottom of the stamp are the words “Dept of Revenue.” Each of the stamps are date-stamped “Dec 1977.”

TOGETHER with all tenements, hereditaments and appurtenances thereto belonging or in anywise appertaining.

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD, the same in fee simple forever.

AND the grantor hereby covenants with said grantee that the grantor is lawfully seized of said land in fee simple; that the grantor has good right and lawful authority to sell and convey said land; that the grantor hereby fully warrants the title to said land and will defend the same against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever; and tat said land is free of all encumbrances, except taxes accruing subsequent to December 31, 1977.

Attached in this area are (6) stamps in the amount of $5.50. Each of these stamps are labeled “State of Florida Documentary Sur Tax” and have the seal of Florida, surrounded by “Comptroller’s Office – State of Florida.” Each of the stamps are date-stamped “Dec 1977.”

THIS INDENTURE, Made the L8th day of April, in the year of our Lord One Thousand Nine Hundred and Twenty-five, between Wynell Stephens, (Single) of the County of Fulton & State of Georgia, and Ada Stephens, (Widow) heirs at law of C. A. Stephens, deceased, of the County of Hamilton and the State of Florida, parties of the first part, and W. A. Lewis, of the County of Hamilton and State of Florida, party of the second part,

WITNESSETH, That the said parties of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of Thirty-Five Hundred Dollars, lawful money of the United States of Amercia, to them in hand paid by the said party of the second party, at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted, bar gained, sold, conveyed, and confirmed, and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, convey, and confirm, unto the said party of the second part, and to his heirs and assigns, forever, all the following piece, parcel, lot, or tract of land, situate, lying and being in the County of Hamilton and State of Florida, and described as follows:—-
